Thank you so much for visiting our
troupe!
We welcome you with open arms.

My name is Suzanne. I am a transplanted Yankee. I have
been living in Florida since 1984 and have been dancing
with Julianne for
the last seven or so years (off and
on). If you had come up to me 10 years ago and told me I
would be a Middle Eastern dancer, I would've told you
(after a wild fit of laughter) that you were loony. I am
a very nervous sort of person and was definitely NOT any
type of performer, or accustomed to opening myself up in
such a way.
I grew up in Stoughton, Massachusetts the oldest of 4
children. I attended Weaton College in the nearby town
of Norton where I graduated cum laude with a B. A. in
Physics/Astronomy. The Navy then brought us to
Jacksonville and I ended up staying here. I have been
working as a Civil Servant since 1985 as an electronics
mechanic on the depot-level repair of Naval aircraft
avionics.
My friend Karen and I started taking Julianne's classes
and, well, that's all she wrote. Since then dancing has
helped me to build on a creative and expressive side of
me that is "to tally" eclipsed by my technical career and
the hectic commitments of everyday survival. It has
helped me to be more relaxed and content amidst other
not-so-desirable things that we are sometimes tested
with. I only wish my mother and sister could enjoy this
with me. Dance is such a wonderfully camouflaged
exercise (oooo, bad word!).
I am now living in a little house in Orange Park,
Florida where I find joy and solace in the raising and
friendship of my son, his accomplishments, the
companionship of my six (yes, six!) cats (now there's a
long story), my piano, reading the Bible and anything
written by Stephen King, and dancing with Sahara Silk.
Send me an e-mail sometime and say "hello" and thanks
again for visiting us.
God be with you.
