I spend most of the day as Stephanie, but when I'm
dancing I become Nzaza. I've been Nzaza since 2001 when
I discovered Julianne's wonderful "belly dance" class. I
must say, it's brought more in to
my life than I ever
imagined. After many years of gymnastics, dance, colorguard, and karate, it's become clear that American
Tribal Style dance is definitely what this body was
meant to do.

At home, my husband
and I enjoy our dogs, pig, and reptiles. Our home is
full of family photos, and Dale Jarrett and Mickey Mouse
stuff. We're learning to cook Middle Eastern cuisine and
to drum along with the music, which is becoming another
passion, thanks to Julianne.
My first memorable
experience with belly dancing was in the Morocco
pavilion at Epcot. The group of dancers pulled me out of
the crowd to dance with them, and then they made me feel
like I was a natural. I was hooked. Now our many trips
to Walt Disney World always include a visit to Morocco
(OK, and Rock-N-Roller Coaster!)
When I'm not dancing,
I'm practicing Optometry. I received my doctorate from
the University of Alabama- Birmingham, my BS in zoology
from the University of
Florida, and my high school
diploma from Wolfson HS. Go Blazers, GATORS, and
Wolfpack!

I hope to be able to
continue studying dance and music with the coolest, most
well-rounded group of women I've ever met. They all keep
me motivated and inspired to learn more. And there's
always more to learn...
